Get Ready for the Great Brick Build-Off & Robot Rodeo at the Wilson County–Tennessee State Fair!

Calling all LEGO® builders, robotics enthusiasts, and creative families! The Great Brick Build-Off & Robot Rodeoreturns to the Wilson County–Tennessee State Fair on Sunday, August 16, 2026, for an afternoon packed with hands-on STEM competitions, imaginative building challenges, and family fun.

Whether you're a seasoned builder or trying a LEGO competition for the first time, there's an event for every age and skill level.

Event Schedule

Time	Event
12:00 PM	FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition – Elementary & Middle School teams compete in games of skill and programming.
12:30 PM	Happy Birthday USA! LEGO Float Competition – Design and build a moving LEGO float celebrating America's 250th birthday. Floats must be built at the fair, followed by a parade. Judging begins at 2:00 PM.
1:30 PM	Surprise Theme Build – Kids & Youth – Builders receive a surprise theme and have one hour to create an original model using bricks provided at the event.
3:00 PM	Surprise Theme Build – Adults – Adults take on the same exciting one-hour building challenge.
4:30 PM	Awards Ceremony – Prizes presented for the Prebuilt Theme Sculpture Competition and other featured events.

Featured Competitions

🤖 FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition

Elementary and middle school students will showcase their coding and engineering skills through exciting robotics games focused on programming, teamwork, and problem-solving.

🇺🇸 Happy Birthday USA! LEGO Float Competition

Celebrate America's 250th birthday by designing a LEGO float that moves under its own power or is pulled by a remote-controlled LEGO robot or vehicle. Participants will build their float on-site before taking part in the parade.

🧱 Surprise Theme Build

Think you can build under pressure? Participants will receive a surprise building theme and have one hour to create an original LEGO masterpiece using bricks provided at the event. Awards will be presented across five age divisions.

🏆 Prebuilt Theme Sculpture Competition

Bring your creativity to life with an original LEGO sculpture built before the event.

2026 Themes

• Ages 12 & Under: Animal Babies

• Ages 13 & Up: Only in Tennessee

Entries may be submitted in the STEM Building on Saturday, August 8, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, or on the day of the event by 12:00 PM at the Expo Center. Sculptures submitted on August 8 will be displayed throughout the fair.

Competition Rules

• LEGO® brand bricks only (no kits)

• Maximum size: 10" × 10" base plate

• Individual or team entries welcome

• One sculpture per individual or team

• Teams are judged by the age of the oldest participant

• Entries must be picked up following the awards ceremony
